Imports

The Imports page allows you to upload data into Branchcast in bulk. From here, you can view all previous imports, start a new import, and manage or delete existing imports.


Access Imports

  1. From the left-side menu, click Data > Imports.
  2. On the Imports page, you can:
    • View all existing imports.
    • Add a new import.
    • Delete an import.

Import List Details

Each import listed includes:

  • Type – The type of data being imported (e.g., Series, Speakers, Sermons, or Posts).
  • Status – Displays the progress or result of the import (e.g., Completed, In Progress, or Failed).
  • Started By – The user who initiated the import.
  • Started At – The date and time the import began.
  • Actions – Option to Delete the import record.

View Import Details

Click on an import to view additional details, including:

  • Type – The type of import performed.
  • Status – The current state or completion result of the import.
  • Imported File – A downloadable file containing the imported records.

Add a New Import

  1. Click + New Import.
  2. From the Import Type dropdown, select the type of data you want to import:
    • Series
    • Speakers
    • Sermons
    • Posts
  3. Once chosen, the Required fields and Optional fields for the import will be shown.
    • Click on Show Details to view more specifics such as descriptions of the Field and Definition as well as an Example.
  4. Click Download Template to have the template downloaded directly to your computer.
    • Sermons includes a Sermons template and the ability to download the speaker list and series list.
    • Posts includes a Posts template and the ability to download the feed list.
  5. Under Import File (CSV), click Choose File to upload your CSV file.
  6. Once your file is selected, click Import to begin the upload.
    • Click Cancel to exit without importing.

Tips

  • Only CSV files are supported for imports.
  • Make sure your CSV file matches the field requirements for the selected import type.
  • Imports may take several minutes depending on the file size.
  • Check the Status column to confirm completion or troubleshoot any errors.
